Oxidation..  like burning, Oxygen combines with the material... but more slowly.. 

I participated with 24 other artists in "Project Breakout" in which we challenged each other to 'breakout' of our typical work styles and take our creations in a new direction.  Since I had typically done two dimensional work, going into the third dimension was my challenge.  With my love of weathered and altered materials, I gravitated toward rusting steel panels and then suspending them from a framework.  The composition was a challenge.  As the viewer moves, with each angle the composition changes.  See the short clip below to get a sense of it.
